Start with the music, not a list of effects
Describe the emotional direction in concrete terms: intimate and quiet, restless and urban, or bright and celebratory. Choose one central visual idea that can carry that mood. A strong cover usually remains recognizable when the image is reduced to a small square.
Decide how the title belongs in the image
Specify the exact artist and release names, capitalization, and relative size. Decide whether the artwork needs lettering at all. If precise typography is essential, generate the artwork without text and finish the title in a layout tool.
Create a coherent release family
For related singles, preserve a few deliberate features such as framing, a recurring object, or title placement. Change one major element at a time. Save the approved cover as a reference rather than relying on a long description of a previous result.
Prepare artwork for delivery
Inspect edges, lettering, and fine detail before exporting. Check the destination distributor’s current file requirements separately. Keep a high-quality master and create resized delivery files from it instead of repeatedly recompressing a small preview.
